They don't work quite as seamlessly or automatically as I had hoped, but they remain more convenient and portable than most other computer speakers I've seen. Also, it doesn't always remember the setting. I can hear bass lines in my music again (something I couldn't do through my laptop speakers).- They are quite loud for their size--much much louder than my laptop's built in speakers.Cons:- On the Mac it's not exactly instant plug-and-play. I have to unplug them and plug them in again before they put out normal sound.- (Note that both of the above cons seem related to how the speakers work with Mac OS 10.6. I have an aluminum body Macbook and was looking for a quick and easy way to get more volume and audible bass out of it.
They may not be a problem at all on Windows).Overall: I'm happy with these speakers and expect to get a lot of good use out of them. You have go to the sound menu in system preferences and switch the sound output to USB before the speakers will work. These speakers do the job admirably, though I have found some small issues that make them a little less than perfect:Pros:- The speakers are relatively small (though not tiny), and come with a cool travel case.- They run on USB power. Like other reviewers I got these speakers to use with my laptop. There's only one cord to plug in and you get both sound and power through it.- They sound really good for their size.
I've had to go back and re-set it several times.- I've noticed that most times I plug in the speakers they have a fuzzy, distorted sound initially.
I have seen smaller, cheaper speakers do much more. Then the crackling sets in. :( I am about to but different speakers. These are okay until turned up. For the price I desired a little more.
The sound and volume are just fine for filling a small-medium space with decent quality sound but don't expect to shake any windows or hear the music above a loud group of people. The buttons on top that control the selection of the next and previous song don't work with my MacBook, but that is just a minor inconvenience. I would recommend these speakers to friends and would buy them again. These speakers sound pretty good. Most people who hear them seem surprised that they are "portable" and USB powered. I have had these speakers for about three years and they are still working as new.
After hooking them up I was experiencing some mild crackling/distortion sounds coming from the new speakers. Go to the CUSTOMER DISCUSSIONS on the Logitech V20 speaker page, where you will find product description, reviews, and customer discussions.
I hope this review helps people who are undecided. They are compact, but have great sound and power for their size.
After fixing my issue I have found these speakers to be really nice. They are alittle pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for.
I just received my Logitech V20 speakers and am excited to get them up and running. However, I was able to figure out why I was experiencing this problem.
I would recommend these speakers to others who are shopping around.
We were so happy with this speaker purchase, that we bought a second set as a housewarming gift for a friend. Recommended.
